OUR FORMULA 2 BOOK IS AT THE PRINTERS!

Fans of Formula 2 back in the period of the 1967–84 FIA European Championship will be pleased to know that at long last our major book about the subject has been completed!

Sometimes circumstances beyond our control cause delays and this book has been a particularly hard-hit victim. But we like to think that our customers will judge it to be worth the wait. Publication will be in November 2024.

It is bigger and better than originally planned, with 560 pages instead of the expected 448, and nearly 900 photographs rather than the anticipated 500. Inevitably, this means it has cost more to produce and its price is now £95 rather than the £75 stated when we announced the book nearly eight years ago. Those very patient customers who pre-ordered at the original price will not have to pay the increase.

Following a Foreword by Jacky Ickx (the first European F2 Champion), a Preface by Jutta Fausel (the book’s photographer) and an Introduction by Ian Phillips (a former editor of Autosport who reported on many of the races covered in the book), the core of the book comprises long chapters about each of the European F2 Championship’s 18 seasons. These chapters, with text by Bob Constanduros, Peter Higham and Mark Hughes, follow a uniform pattern of typically 28 pages each with a season overview, 45–50 photos accompanied by extended commentary, a champion profile and season statistics. Concluding the book is an Afterword by Chris Witty (a fascinating personal appreciation of F2), Appendices covering driver/car/engine statistics and circuit maps/data, and a comprehensive index.
